Find what you think may be an edge in the NFL lines and make your bets based on that. Some weeks you may be making 4 bets, some weeks 6 NFL bets, and hell some weeks even just 1 or 2 NFL bets on the whole weekend. Don’t force bets because you want action and want to make the NFL. NFL Week 7 best bets: Kansas City Chiefs -9.5. The Chiefs bounced back nicely from their first loss of the season with an outstanding performance in Buffalo on Monday, winning 26-17.

The NFL playoffs are here. What are the biggest risks you can take?

The NFL’s wild card weekend is here and with it comes the best month to be a sports bettor.

Even better: The 2020 season’s expanded playoff field brings two additional games on which to wager this Saturday and Sunday.

Some bets, obviously, seem safer than others as we head into the NFL playoffs.

But what if you want to live dangerously?

To answer that, we put together 10 longshot bets from odds provided by BetMGM.

Because even if you’re not going to risk any of your own money, it’s fun to see the ways you might be able to strike it big, however improbable.

Washington to win the Super Bowl: 100 to 1

(Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports)

So what was Washington Football Team’s reward for finishing 7-9 atop a crummy NFC East? Well, they get to host a playoff game against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday night.

But they also get to be the playoff field’s biggest underdog. Placing just 10 bucks on WFT to win its first Super Bowl title in almost 30 years would get you $1,000 on the off chance it actually happens.

The Chicago Bears, by the way, are the second-longest shot at 80-1.

Bears to beat the Saints: +10

(Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports)

The 8-8 Chicago Bears had a rollercoaster season and aren’t inspiring much confidence as they head to New Orleans to face the Saints on Sunday.

The Bears are the biggest underdog in the weekend’s six games and are getting 10 points. If you want to bet them to win outright, the money line is at +375 (bet $100 to win $375).

Bills to win their first Super Bowl: 7 to 1

The Buffalo Bills actually have the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl behind the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers.

But considering the Bills previous records in the big game — they’ve lost all four Super Bowls they’ve attended — we’ll definitely list it here.

Titans to win their first Super Bowl: 25 to 1

(Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports)

The Titans are one of three teams in the field to never win a Super Bowl.

They’ll give you a nice return for your money if Ryan Tannenhill and Derrick Henry can stage a run like Steve McNair and Eddie George did 21 years ago. (They’ll actually have to win this time, though.)

Browns to win their first Super Bowl: 40 to 1

(Scott Galvin-USA TODAY Sports)

The Browns are the only team in the field that has never even been to the Super Bowl. If they can somehow beat the COVID-19 outbreak on the team, they’ll return 40 bucks for every dollar wagered.

Washington to beat the Browns or Colts in Super Bowl: 3,000 to 1

(Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports)

You can actually bet specific matchups and outcomes in the Super Bowl. Betting WFT to beat either Indianapolis or Cleveland would give you a huge windfall.

Steelers and Bears to win their wild card games: +625

(Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports)

Neither Pittsburgh or Chicago is entering the playoffs on a hot streak. But a two-team parlay is paying off a little over 6 to 1 if they can somehow get it together against the Browns and Saints.

All underdog parlay on wild-card weekend: 1,297 to 1

(Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports)

Want to get really freaky? Bet just $1 on an all-money line parlay involving Washington, Chicago, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Tennessee and Cleveland to win almost $1,300.

Chiefs to beat Washington in the Super Bowl: 200 to 1

(Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports)

Picking the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl against any opponent is only paying off around 2.5 to 1 right now. But what if you picked them to beat Washington in the final game?

Well, that’s paying off at 200 to 1.

Colts to meet Bears in Super Bowl: 1,000 to 1

(Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports)

This would be a rematch of Super Bowl XLI and ranks as the longest-odds for a potential Super Bowl rematch at 1,000 to 1.

Basic NFL Betting Strategies and Tips

Did you know that you need to hit above 52.4% of your NFL bets (assuming you are betting -110 odds) in order to profit? Doesn’t sound too hard does it? It is actually extremely tough to do, and only the best of the best can consistently hit 53%+ winners year in and year out in the NFL.

Use the basic NFL betting strategies below to help you on your way to a profiting NFL season.

#1 NFL Betting Strategy – Money/Bankroll Management

When you are betting on the NFL season you will want to set aside a certain amount of money to bet with that you can afford to lose, known as your “bankroll”. I suggest you either make a weekly bankroll, monthly bankroll, or full season bankroll (I do full season).

For example, you may set aside a $3000 bankroll for the full NFL season that you can use to bet with. A general rule of thumb for NFL betting I go by is to only use 2-5% of my bankroll for each bet. In this example, it would allow us to make $60-$150 wagers on each game we bet. You can use 2% for your smaller plays and 5% for plays you really like.

One common mistake is to increase the size of your bets as you start winning or to chase losses with biggers bets – remember the NFL is a long season and to profit over the course of the season you need to manage your money smartly.

#2 NFL Betting Strategy – Look For Weekly Edges

I can’t believe how many times I will see bettors who play every game (or close to) in the NFL each week. This is a recipe for disaster in the long run – to be a winning NFL bettor you need to find edges and capitalize on them.

Find what you think may be an edge in the NFL lines and make your bets based on that. Some weeks you may be making 4 bets, some weeks 6 NFL bets, and hell some weeks even just 1 or 2 NFL bets on the whole weekend. Don’t force bets because you want action and want to make the NFL games more exciting. If you want to make a profit this NFL season find a few good plays each weekend and bet them with 2-5% of your bankroll like we mentioned above.

#3 NFL Betting Strategy – Line Shopping

In order to have the best opportunity of making money this NFL season, you will need to make sure you do a little bit of “line shopping”. Line shopping is simply checking a few different sportsbooks and comparing the lines on the plays you like. For example, you may like the Bears to cover the 5 point spread on Monday night. Before you place your wager you should check other sportsbooks, as one of them might have the Bears listed as 4.5 point favorites instead of 5 point favorites.

I suggest you sign up at 3-4 of the best NFL sportsbooks listed in our Online Sportsbook section and compare the lines on each before you make any bets this NFL season. This NFL betting strategy can help you win a few extra wagers this NFL season and help you on your way to a winning season!

#4 NFL Betting Strategy – Bet Sober and Don’t Tilt

Nfl Bets To Make Week 12

Bet Sober – This may seem pretty obvious, but there are hundreds of thousands of bettors who don’t follow this week in and week out during the NFL season. Do you think it’s a coincidence that Vegas casinos offer gamblers free alcoholic drinks? Drinking will impair your judgment while betting – save the beers for when the games start and you are done making bets.

Don’t Tilt – Everyone losses. Even the best NFL handicappers lose bets 40% of the time. Don’t let your emotions get the best of you. Some bettors may take a few bad losses and start to make very poor decisions as their emotions have taken over. Make sure you have a clear mind when making your NFL bets. If you feel like you are on tilt go for a walk or do something to calm down and don’t bet until you are back to your normal state of mind.
